It sounds too simple, huh? If something isn’t working for you, CHANGE IT. Really.
- CHANGE the situation.
- CHANGE how you view the situation.
- WALK AWAY from the things that are NOT ACCEPTABLE.
How do you know when something is not working for you?
- You waste your time and energy worrying about it.
- You waste another people’s time and energy complaining about it.
- You feel the following:
- When you think/say:
- “It must be nice.”
- “It isn’t fair.”
- “Just my luck.”
- “This always happens to me.”
Wallowing in self-pity sucks… for you and for everyone around you. Believe me… I know… I have been on both ends of it.
The pain of frustration, indecision, emptiness, and lack of fulfillment are warning signs… just like a fever, aches, and fatigue are warning signs for physical illness.
But don’t just “pop a pill” to mask the pain (which is all the over-the-counter medications are doing… just numbing the pain until the body can heal itself. Go look it up if you thought that NyQuil actually made your flu go away.)
Find the CAUSE of your PAIN and make a CHANGE.
How do you “pop a pill” for emptiness, frustration, misdirected aggression? You distract yourself with things like drugs, alcohol, food, shopping, television, work, gossip…
Make a CHANGE and feel good from the inside out. Just like being “skinny” will not bring about happiness… happiness brings about health which brings about a great looking body.
What is one CHANGE you are going to make starting TODAY?
