One of my clients recently talked to me about some of the other support/accountability groups she has been added to on Facebook where they really promote and drive home the “no excuses” message. This client is a busy mom of 2, a nurse who works shift work, and the glue that keeps her family together especially since her husband travels for work on a very regular basis. The all or nothing, no-excuses philosophy does not work for most people, and it definitely doesn’t work when you are juggling this much life.
I have been hearing and seeing this “no excuses” message more and more with the advent of social media and the armies of untrained, “fitspo”, product-slinging people who are well-meaning, but mis-informed. I created today’s Q&A to address why this no excuses mentality can actually move you further away from your goals.
